About The writer and dance artistRACHEL BRUCE JOHNSON is the founder and Executive Director of Bell House Arts, Inc., a collaborative dance and art cooperative dedicated to creating opportunity for artistic exchange. Ms. Johnson has worked as a dance performance soloist, contributing choreographer and video enthusiast for various companies across the U.S. and abroad. Her work has garnished such critical comments as “avant-garde” and “excellence in kinetic artistry”. She is particularly interested in choreographing through performance process and in developing research in dance and Christian apologetics. Ms. Johnson holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Performance and Choreography from Texas Woman’s University. In 2009, she launched the annual EXCHANGE CHOREOGRAPHY FESTIVAL in Tulsa, OK still running annually. She served for 7 years on the dance committee for the Living Arts Council of Tulsa, performed and choreographed 6 years with Living Water Dance Company in Tulsa, OK and 12 years with Out On a Limb Dance Company in Waco, TX. Ms. Johnson held an adjunct associate faculty position at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK for 13 years, including the pioneering year of the program. She now lives in Houston, TX, minding the gap to the next chapter in her creative life. However, her culminating choreographic work is as a mother of three adventurous children.
